Dear readers,
As Halloween approaches, Christians are often reminded of our reasons for not celebrating pagan festivals. These might include a variety of things, but they all boil down to not wanting to do what the world does, especially during a time when demonic activity is openly embraced.
While Halloween itself is built upon centuries of tradition and mythology, none of which honors God, there are many other aspects to this time of year.
Horror films and the focus on darker things like witchcraft are just a few ways the world leans towards what is evil during this time of year.
The Enticement to Darkness
You know, one thing this world really didn’t need was the fear that our adorable dolls and stuffed toys would come to life and harm us. What once comforted us in childhood has been subverted and made to be evil by the greedy and corrupt ‘powers-that-should-not-be’ in Hollywood.
Profits have been made off of the idea of the ‘paranormal’ and continue to fascinate and lead astray many in our world today.
To understand where I’m coming from as it relates to paranormal activity associated with dolls, stuffed toys, objects, talisman, and cursed objects, it’s crucial to understand the paranormal is demonic.
What is ‘supernatural’ is simply Satanic.
The phenomenon of "haunted dolls" has been featured in movies, television shows, and social media. There are even trends of collectors of ‘haunted’ objects making YouTube videos and TikToks about them! It’s saddening to see how many people are interested in them.
These dolls can allegedly move on their own, cause unexplained activities, or even communicate via Ouija boards. Yikes!
Those who collect these ‘haunted’ dolls claim they are possessed by the spirits of the deceased, often those who died under traumatic circumstances. It’s crucial to explore this phenomenon through the lens of Scripture, providing biblical reasoning and guidance for understanding what is really going on behind the dolls ‘activities’.
What Are Haunted Dolls?
Haunted dolls are often described as objects that express supernatural behaviors like moving themselves without aid, causing nightmares, or even moving objects. While these topics and others in the realm of ‘ghost stories’ have fascinated people forever, I believe it’s important to discern the true nature of these entities from a biblical standpoint to be able to share with others who may believe the lie of deceased spirits ‘haunting’ things like dolls, or even dwellings, etc.
Demonic Entities Mimicking the Deceased
If not ghosts, what are the spirits behind this phenomenon? The Bible provides clear guidance on the nature of these spiritual beings and the deception they employ. Scripture teaches that human spirits do not linger on Earth after death but are either with the Lord or in a place of separation from Him.
Humans Do Not Roam the Earth After Death:
Hebrews 9:27 states, "And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment." This verse indicates a clear transition from life to judgment, leaving no room for wandering spirits.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 confirms this, "And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it."
Those created in the image of God are not left to wander this world. Nephilim or giants are the offspring of angels and earthly women who were wiped out in the flood. Their disembodied spirits were left to wander the earth. Most believe that this is the origin of the demons we pray against today.
Demons can mimic the voices and behaviors of deceased individuals to deceive the living. This aligns with their goal to sow confusion and draw people away from God’s truth.
Some cultures, particularly in East Asia, Africa, and parts of the Pacific, even participate in ‘ancestor worship’, where they look for answers on how to live their lives based on praying to or venerating deceased family members.
The False Doctrine of Reincarnation
Reincarnation, the belief that souls are reborn into new bodies after death, is a false doctrine. The Bible consistently teaches that humans live once, die once, and then face judgment. The rich man and Lazarus parable in Luke 16:19-31 illustrates that after death, individuals enter their eternal state with no indication of multiple lives or reincarnations. The belief in reincarnation can detract from the urgency of the Gospel. If people believe they have multiple lifetimes to "get it right," they delay repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
There is no dress rehearsal in life.
A more modern iteration of the ancient pagan belief of reincarnation can be seen in a quantum theory called ‘Quantum Immortality’. This theory posits that since energy cannot be destroyed, souls are immortal but respawn in parallel universes. Theories like this make me wonder why some atheists don’t want to believe in God when they have no problem believing in ideas like this.
The idea of reincarnation links all the way back to the ancient Mystery schools. I expose this false belief system and what became of it in this video:

Cursed Objects and Talisman
The concept of cursed objects, items believed to harbor evil spirits, is not new. Various cultures and religious teachings, including magick, cults, and vodou have some of the oldest records of the practice of binding demons to items or locations.
The Bible has several examples of objects associated with demonic influence. In Acts 19:19, new believers in Ephesus who practiced sorcery brought their scrolls (which were books of magick) and burned them publicly. This act could have signified their renouncement of any objects tied to dark practices.
Deuteronomy 7:25-26 instructs the Israelites to burn images of false gods and not bring abominable things into their homes, pointing to the spiritual danger associated with having such items.
The Bible also instructs us to stay far away from divination, magical crystals, New Age decorations and activities, etc. These things are all antagonistic towards God and His Word and can open you up to demonic influence. Take the initiative to ask the Holy Spirit to show you anything you may have in your home that He wants you to remove.
Hollywood films sometimes show spirits trapped within an object, vase, genie bottle, etc. In the real world, there are many ways dark forces can be attached to objects or places. Ritualistic practices (like Satanic ritual abuse), trauma, and invoking dark powers (magick, vodou, or cult rituals) can bind demonic entities to objects, making them ‘cursed’ or ‘haunted’.
While researching for this article, I came across a book of witchcraft that the author claims to have ‘cursed’ in rituals. The people who buy these things see it as a selling point.
This world is in dire need of Jesus.
There are folks on social media who will ‘give you a demon’ if you comment, or donate to them on their livestreams.
When did it become so ‘in vogue’ to invite wicked and destructive spirits into one’s life?
As Christians, we serve the living God who has defeated every one of these demons who tremble at the feet of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Matthew 8:28-29) So, while these dark realities exist, know that our Father has given us the power over such demonic activity. (Luke 10:19)
Pray Over Possessions
It’s crucial to be vigilant and discerning about the spiritual influences in our lives. Some of the things that I do include praying over objects! Yes, really!
Before bringing any new object into your home, especially second-hand items, pray over it.
Dedicate each item to the Lord. Ask God to reveal to you if there are any objects He wants you to remove from your home as well.
I was cleaning out storage boxes and found some old stuffed animals my grandfather gave me from his trip to Arizona.
As a child, I saw them as regular stuffed animals. But, I did not realize they were a plushie version of Kokopeli - a diety associated with Pan! Needless to say, I got rid of them.
Even though it can be tough to say goodbye to things that have sentimental value, I’m reminded that our true treasures are in Heaven and not in things on Earth.
1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." This includes the objects we bring into and keep in our homes.
It’s not just about physical objects. Be careful what you allow into your home in the form of media or digital content.
Dedicate and sanctify your home to the Lord through regular prayer.
Declare that your home and those in it are covered by the blood of the Lamb.
Psalm 91 is a powerful prayer for protection, stating, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty."
Conclusion
The phenomenon of haunted dolls and cursed objects provides a stark reminder of the spiritual realities that exist beyond our physical world. As Christians, we must ground ourselves in the truth of Scripture and recognize that these entities are demonic in nature, seeking to deceive and harm.
By understanding the biblical perspective on things like ghosts or paranormal behavior, we can better protect ourselves and our homes from spiritual harm.
Through prayer, discernment, and reliance on God’s Word, we can navigate these spiritual challenges and stand firm against the enemy's schemes.
Let us remain vigilant, always seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and dedicating our lives, homes, and possessions to the Lord. In doing so, we can live lives that please the Lord and hopefully help others seek Him along the way!

A note of thanks for subscribing to my newsletter focusing on biblical perspectives on contemporary issues. I’m grateful for your continued support.
There’s been many things my sister and I have had to get rid of after we understood generational curses and what “charged items” things like a 32 degree ring that ended up with some family heirloom things. There’s a lot of really good resources on this topic as well as the survival story in the book snatched from the flames by Nathan Reynolds. He also has them on his YT channel. It’s interesting because the Lord used your information to prepare me for a greater understanding and ability to explain the unexplainable. Thank you Lady A I’m praying for you and praise Yahuah for the blessing you are to so many
Recently, a friend of ours had been through deliverance with tremendous freedom. A few months later their mother was cleaning out her deceased father’s belongings and gave them an old Masonic Bible, complete with Masonic inscriptions and the first part was all about freemasonry. They asked me what to do and I said to burn it. They prayed and then did so. When the book was in the fire, they took pictures in in the photos they captured, there were obvious images of a cobra, a dragon, an owl and other freaky images in the flames. I believe these were demons coming out. It was crazy!
We have often prayed over many homes dedicating art and objects to the Lord Jesus where peace in the house returned. It is a reality. Thank you for this post!
